Youth Golf Agility Ladder

Here is a great tool for youth athletic development, the agility ladder.

In the academy. We do not - and let me say that again, we do not use the ladder for speed. We use the ladder to develop proprioception. This is the awareness of your body in space and the ability to control your limbs with precision. We want to develop the neurological connections between an athlete's, brain and muscles.

So in the academy, we'll use a simple four-step pattern and we'll do this twice in one session: we'll do it as we start the session and then, as we come back from break we'll hit the ladder again.

The four-step pattern: you can start on each side, either side is okay, we're going to take one foot and we're going to move it into the square. Then the other foot moves into the square one moves out and the other moves out in pattern and is continued all the way down to the end of the ladder.

So the agility ladder is a great way to develop economy of movements and cement. Those neurological connections. Watch for new posts coming soon with different patterns.
